Cloth Diapers and Daycare

Can cloth diapers and daycare really work together?  You bet they can! Cloth diapers today are so simple to use, grandparents and dad's are using them, and so can the awesome childcare providers who are taking care of your child.  After all they want what is best for your child, and who can argue with the awesomeness that is cloth!
Cloth diapers can be sent to daycare or to your childcare provider with your child.  They may not be open to the option right away (but you would be surprised how many are!)  as alot of people still see cloth diapers as folding, pins, rubber pants, and a mess.  Once you show them the diapers and explain how simple they are, they will probably be willing to give them a try!
When you are requesting your child to be cloth diapered at daycare, you should choose cloth diapers that are easy for them to use and have them all ready to be used.  One Size Pocket diapers, prestuffed and pre-sized to fit your little one is an excellent choice.  That way all they will need to do is change him/her into the clean, all prepared cloth, then throw the dirty cloth diaper in a wetbag (that you have sent in the morning)!  Or another great choice is an all in one that is all ready to go too!
You need to make sure you send enough cloth diapers for the day, with extra's incase something were to go awry, such as several poops a day, or you may be running late to pick them up.  Send enough for a diaper change every 2 hours, that way they will always have enough, and be sure to send a clean wetbag everyday!  Most daycare regulations state that dirty diapers need to be disposed of at the end of each day, and this is true for cloth as well, so take those stinkies home with you everyday and send a fresh batch + wetbag every morning!
Be prepared to put your child's name or initial on the cloth diapers, especially if there are other families in the daycare who use cloth diapers, you can write it on the inside or outside (tags are great) that way you won't need to worry about any going missing by accident!
