Velcro Vs. Snaps

When I started cloth diapering, it was all velcro, I made them myself, and velcro just seemed SO much easier than any other option.  Once he started getting more mobile, and curious (that still hasn't stopped!) My DS started taking off his diaper... as some of you know, the first time that happens is usually the worst because it was when he woke up from his nap, and had a full cloth diaper of poop...

I heard him before I saw him, he was laughing and having a grand ol' time and I remember walking up the stairs thinking 'I love when he wakes up this happy' and then I walked in the door to his room and wanted to cry/laugh/take a picture/and cry again.  This was when I started looking at other options for cloth diapers, and bought my very first snap diaper.  I will be the first to tell you, I love both, for different reasons.
Velcro diapers are great for getting a good fit, especially on a newborn.  This is my #1 reason for loving velcro.  It is great for dad's, grandparents, babysitter's and anyone who doesn't change the diapers the majority of the time, you don't need to worry about it being too loose or too tight, you can get the perfect fit on the first try.  What I don't like about velcro is that it comes apart easily, whether by babes or in the laundry from the laundry tabs, making the horrid diaper chain.
Snap diapers are great on older babies.  I converted to snaps, there are no diaper chains in the laundry, nothing gets mucked up from fuzzies. and sizing is figured out after a few trials.
Velcro Vs. Snaps really is a personal choice, for me, it's both.  I am building my newborn stash and am planning on including velcro diapers (that I am making myself) as well as the snap diapers I already have.
