Have you decided to sell off your newborn stash of cloth diapers? Or maybe you are ready to move onto the next size up. Perhaps through trial and error you found one type of diapers that work just perfect for your little one, and want to sell off the others to buy more! Whatever your reason, cloth diapers have a great resale value, especially if you have treated them well!
Once you have decided to sell some cloth diapers, seperate those from your stash, and give them a good wash, followed by a good stripping, and as long as your diapers allow it, give them a spin through the dryer to seal them well and fluff them up.
You're going to want to take a good picture, either on the table or couch, I don't recommend the floor for pictures unless you put them on a clean blanket or sheet. Make sure you have good lighting, we love to see all the colors.
Take a picture of the diaper all folded up as a diaper, then open it up and take photo's of the inside, outside, and a close up of the velcro (if your diaper has velcro). Also take any photo's of stains, spots, tears, loose elastic, broken snaps, or anything that may depreciate the value, always be honest! Once your photo's are taken, put the diapers away from harms reach, away from animals, lil ones, or anything that could happen to them before they go out your door!
Condition classifications are:
BNWT - Brand New With Tags the diaper is still in the original packaging, has never been washed, worn or used and is just like it was when it came off the store shelf.
LN - Like New the diaper is just like new, but without original packaging, has not been worn or washed.
EUC - Excellent Used Condition these diapers look new, but may have been washed or worn a couple times, there is no staining, no pilling, the closures work perfectly, and the inserts are stain free and fluffy.
VGUC - Very Good Used Condition these diapers have been worn, but have minimal pilling and no stains, the closures are perfectly functionable, velcro may have slight build up.
GUC - Good Used Condition these diapers have been worn, may have pilling or slight stains but fully functioning, velcro may have lint built up, there may be snags in the fabric, but these diapers still have lots of life left.
UC - Used Condition these are diapers that have been well used but will still function for a little while longer, these diapers may have stains, velcro that is not as sticky, elastic that is stretched, stains on the inside or outside, and may have runs or picks in the material. These diapers may need repair in the near future, but are still fully functionable when sold.
NR - Needs Repair - These diapers will state exactly what is broken or not functioning correctly and will need repair before they are able to be used.
Write up a description of your diaper, include:
How many are for sale.
What Brand they are.
The names of the colors.
The condition of the diaper.
Price for the diaper(s).
If shipping is included.
If you are shipping them and shipping is included in your price make sure your listing states that, if shipping is extra you will need to figure out shipping cost Canada Post and USPS are great for this.
PPD - Postage Paid Domestic - this means that you are including shipping costs in the price of the diaper, for local shipping - Example - You are in Canada, and your buyer is in Canada.
Once you have your photo's taken and your write-up written, you are all set to list it for sale! There are some great cloth diaper selling sites including:
and many more!
Good luck with your listing!
